Analyst, Economic Analysis & Strategy, Transmission
located in
Hartford, CT ,
Westwood, MA , or
Hooksett, NH . Under general supervision, analyzes regional energy and environmental information and supports economic analysis services for the Transmission organization and our customers. Performs research and analysis of electricity and emissions data. Supports electric power market forecasting activities. Uses information management and communication skills to contribute to various economic analysis deliverables including memos, spreadsheets, graphics, presentations, reports, and other media.Essential Functions:Research technical data and state and federal regulatory policy information related to the New England wholesale electricity markets and high-voltage transmission system.Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of electricity demand, traditional and clean energy resources, consumer cost impacts, power sector emissions trends, and the transmission grid.Develop well-informed observations, insights, and summaries of research and analysis activities.Use information technology to find, store, manage, and convert raw information and data into useful input assumptions, tabular and graphical results, clear and concise narrative explanations, and visualizations that convey sophisticated concepts simply.Read, write, and contribute to strategic analyses of power sector energy and economics.Collaborate with and support a team of analysts and engineers in providing high quality analytical services and power sector forecasts.Monitor and scrutinize technical reports related to the operational and economic impact of clean energy resources on the electric transmission and distribution systems in New England.Organize and maintain electronic files and data sources and internal communication platforms.Analyze federal (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and state policy proposals for their impact on Eversource and our customers.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to apply knowledge to solve problems and strong team building skills.Understanding of economic theory and wholesale electricity markets.Understanding of state and federal utility industry regulation.Knowledge and experience with ISO/RTO processes and FERC open access transmission tariffs preferred.Demonstrates competency and proficiency in oral and written communications and the MS Office suite.Attention to detail, self-motivation, and comfort in a hybrid office/home work environment.Experience or familiarity with power market simulation software (PLEXOS), visualization software platforms (Power BI), and/or geographical information systems software preferred.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, related field or equivalent relevant experience.Experience:3 to 5 years of related experience.Compensation and Benefits:Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $84,340 to $93,710 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience.
