The Director of Transmission System Planning – Strategic Projects is responsible for directing strategic and competitive transmission system needs identification, solution development and optimization, and the overall technical management of competitive transmission business opportunities. This position will improve the Company’s competitive position and create shareholder value. This position is a key driver for the Company’s future growth as an increasingly number of strategic and competitive projects rapidly emerge.Essential Functions:Proactively identifying and proposing potential competitive transmission opportunities through system planning assessments both locally and regionally.Developing comprehensive proposals to competitive transmission solicitations proactively and in anticipation of potential requests.Directing electric system testing and modeling, electric pricing analysis, supporting detailed engineering design efforts, project financing, and contracting efforts related to competitive transmission opportunities.Working extensively with the company’s strategic partners; collaborating with external parties including vendors, regulatory agencies and industry groups to further the interests of Eversource.Developing and implementing business unit objectives that are aligned with and support the strategic and tactical goals of the broader Company.Executing the technical business development strategy for Eversource in relation to strategic and competitive Transmission System Planning projects and initiatives.Leading cross-functional teams emphasizing a philosophy of ownership and accountability for outcomes and a high level of productivity and quality of work.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Technical Knowledge/Skills:Mastery of Transmission System Planning and utilization to inform decision-making and results-oriented outcomes.Demonstrated understanding of components necessary to win solicitations and receive innovative project funding.Extensive knowledge of transmission utility industry, energy markets and regulatory regimes; industry trends, drivers, and related legislation.Exceptional analytical and leadership skills.Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.Advanced degree such as an MBA is strongly preferred.Experience:Minimum of twelve years of business and technical development or equivalent experience.A minimum of 12 years of related experience in an analytical capacity either in the transmission system planning or electric power industry or with a top tier consulting firm or investment bank.Strong track record in leading and working with inter-disciplinary, cross functional teams to deliver strong results.Licenses & Certifications:None required.Working Conditions:Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.Worker Type:
