We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.THE ROLE:In this leadership role within the AECG ASIC Engineering Team, the candidate will leverage their understanding of business opportunity evaluation techniques, project finances, and the general silicon engineering process, from concept to tape-out to production to manage and drive the execution activities of cross-disciplinary engineering functions developing ASIC solutions in collaboration with some of AMD's largest customers.THE PERSON:The right candidate is an integral part of the AECG ASIC engineering development team and will be responsible for program managing engineering and business cross-functional efforts from end-to-end. This role entails significant leadership in silicon product development for high-profile customers, ranging from architecture, implementation, scheduling, budget management, engineering builds, test/validation plans, change management, supply chain, and production ramp.RESPONSIBILITIES:The Core Team Leader will plan and drive the cross-functional planning and execution of various engineering functions to enable best-in-class customer solutions.Create resource and budget plans.Work with business development teams and senior executives on program business case development.Drive AMD product solution deliverables and alignment with customer requirements to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction throughout their product lifecycle.Engage with the leadership team to understand and document program scope, establish integrated schedules, assess and manage program progress and risk, and create resource and budget plans.Represent the AECG ASIC Engineering organization in corporate and executive planning and execution forums.Work with the Core Team Leadership, Product owner, and relevant team members to ensure compliance with customer gate checklists & contract milestone attainment with the business development team.Be well-organized, technically-oriented, and a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate the activities of geographically distributed technical teams.REQUIRED SKILLS:Familiar with silicon product development with hardware platforms and related software ecosystem.Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.Good understanding of how project finances work for semiconductor projects and how to work within a business unit P&L constraints.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations.Excellent analytical, project planning, and management skills.Proven ability to deliver large cross-functional strategic initiatives.Quickly adapt to dynamic business and technical requirements.Business savvy: ability to think strategically and make intelligent technical vs business trade-off recommendations.Skilled in interfacing with customers, partners, and in managing joint-development projects.Energized by working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment.Experienced in a core team leadership role at a semiconductor company.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
