The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified Junior Specialists to conduct research in all our disciplines including Astrophysics and Cosmology, Condensed Matter Theory, and High Energy Theory. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Positions may range from part-time to 100% time and may be for 1 year or less than 1 year. Appointees at this level enable research as part of a team.Please note, there are two Jr. Specialist Pooled Recruitments. If your area of specialization is astrophysics or theoretical physics (Condensed Matter Theory or High Energy Theory), then apply for Pool #1 at

Basic Qualifications
(required at time of application) : Bachelor's degree in Physics or closely related field, or be enrolled in a Bachelor's program at the time of application.Additional Qualifications
(required at time of start) : A Bachelor's degree is required in the following fields of Physics: Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology, Condensed Matter Theory, or High Energy Theory by the time of appointment.Preferred Qualifications : At least 2 years of previous research experience in Physics or closely related field.Application Requirements
