Senior Director of Corporate Relations
role is integral in leading UVA Advancement's Corporate Relations Team. Corporate Relations is a program of the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) department that helps generate financial support for the university's priorities by developing mutually beneficial relationships with corporations. The Senior Director will report to the Assistant Vice President for CFR.Key responsibilities:Supervise development staff to create fundraising strategies. Present current and future endowment and gift opportunities to alumni and friends of the University.Increase private funding available to students and faculty for scholarships, research projects, professorships, and other restricted and unrestricted needs.Work collaboratively with development colleagues across UVA Grounds and establish team approaches to fundraising.Mentor and provide guidance to development officers regarding best practices in alumni engagement and fundraising, trip planning and follow up, stewardship of donors, and building working relationships with faculty.In consultation with senior leadership, develop and implement goals, objectives and metrics for measuring performance.Cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts, typically above $100,000.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in corporate and foundation relations, higher education fundraising, strong leadership and mentorship skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.Required Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degreeExperience: eight years of fundraising experience, including several years in corporate and/or foundation relationsPreferred Qualifications:Proven success leading a high-functioning teamExperience in higher-education developmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong history of collaborationDiversity, Equity & InclusionCommitted to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, University Advancement honors your experiences, perspectives, and unique identity. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. The anticipated Hiring Range: $140,000 - $160,000 and will be commensurate with education and experience.
