Essential Functions
The systems engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and enable staff to efficiently perform their duties.
This individual will assist with day to day technical issues as well participate in the implementation of the broader technology strategy. Duties include requirements gathering, research & development, technical analysis and design, and the testing and rolling-out of the solutions.
This individual is accountable for the following systems: Windows systems infrastructure including VMWare, Windows Server 2019, Group Policy Administration, Active Directory, Office 365 Infrastructure, Amazon Web Services, Citrix Virtual desktop environment, Backup infrastructure (Veeam). Responsibilities on these systems include engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Must be a US Citizen
Five to seven years' experience implementing infrastructure project
Microsoft Server certification
Experience supporting virtual desktop environments
Technical solution design and planning experience
Basic understanding of the project management life cycle
Well-developed practical operating knowledge of common desktop/laptop hardware and application software specifically:
Windows/ Windows Server 2019
Active Directory
Group Policy
MS Office Suite/Office 365
Workstation imaging processes
Print services and printers
Planning, design and delivery expertise with the following technologies and activities:
Microsoft Database technologies: SQL Server
Microsoft Communication technologies such as Office 365 and Skype
Microsoft Collaboration technologies: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS)
System application, systems management, and data communication including basic networking in LAN/WAN environment and remote access solutions
Strong attention to detail
Good problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively
Excellent written and verbal skills, including ability to clearly articulate technical issues and activities to technical and non-technical staff
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a complex and changing environment
Consistently meet expected production, accuracy and quality standards as set by management
Must be team oriented with the ability to work independently
Responsibilities
Responsible for implementation of infrastructure including Windows servers, VMWare, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Implements strategic architectures for the overall IT project portfolio as required by the business.
Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, Azure AD Domain Services, ADFS/MS-SSO, Azure AD Connect, Windows Server 2012 to 2022 and Windows Security.
Manage and set policy for Active Directory.
Implement group policy.
Troubleshoot, migrate, maintain, and monitor file servers.
In-depth knowledge of major Microsoft cloud-based back-office systems including Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint/OneDrive, Security & Compliance, ATP, Intune, Teams.
Responsible for the design and delivery of complex projects focusing on Microsoft technology stack across all industry verticals to meet Marotta's technology and business needs.
Provide third level support for high priority issues.
Adhere to installation and configuration procedures.
Research and recommend innovative and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Work Environment:
This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
Overtime and weekend work could be required, as job duties demand.
No travel is expected for this position.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
The employee is frequently required to reach and lift with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, turn, etc., and move about the facility.

This position is at our Parsippany NJ office location.
