The Supply Chain system architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the technical architecture that supports the organization’s supply chain processes. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, IT, and external vendors, to ensure that system solutions align with business objectives and operational needs. The System Architect will develop scalable and integrated solutions that enhance the efficiency, visibility, and performance of the end-to-end supply chain, from procurement to delivery.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems design, solution architecture, and supply chain management technologies such as SAP ERP systems, ARIBA, Tactical/Predictive Procurement, Inventory Management, and demand planning tools. They will be responsible for ensuring the architecture supports both current and future needs, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.Key Responsibilities
Leads designing governance and standards activities for technology architecture compliance. Participates in hardware and software technology and product standards selection in the supply chain domain. Participates and contributes in system architect reviews and ensures architecture adherence.Collaborates with stakeholders, including senior supply chain leadership, to ensure system architecture aligns with business objectives and long-term vision. Identifies organizational and financial impacts of technology architecture, that supports competitive positioning and innovation.Drives the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks for systems. Assesses technology industry and market trends and their impact on the enterprise. Evaluates technology options and advises on emerging technology investment decisions.Analyzes and translates business and technical requirements into scalable and efficient system designs. Designs and implements end to end system architectures that meet business requirements and maximizes security, performance and resilience.Defines system integration approaches and ensures interoperability of system components. Provides strategic guidance and support to development teams during system implementation. Leads technology change initiatives to deliver business outcomes. Will also oversee technology implementation and modification activities.Champions the documentation and communicates technology architecture design and analysis work. Leads the development of system architecture documentation and diagrams creating comprehensive, accessible resources that ensures clarity and strategic alignment.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred, related field or equivalent experience.5+ years of relevant architecture experience required.Experience in SAP ERP systems (procure to pay), ARIBA, Tactical/Predictive Procurement, Inventory Management, and demand planning tools preferred.Skills
