The Early Academic Outreach Program at UCSB provides students, their families, and communities with the resources and services necessary to increase A-G eligibility rates, university and financial aid applications, and enrollment into post-secondary education.Brief Summary of Job Duties:

The Director of the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) is responsible for program design, assessment, fiscal management, and resource development. Manages effective collaborative partnerships, communications & public relations, and provides leadership and supervision of personnel.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Strong leadership skills with experience in staff management, development, and evaluation.Experience working with high achieving, low-income and first-generation populations in pre-college programs or educational context.Strong interpersonal skills, including presentation, communication, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.Thorough problem identification, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; judgment and decision-making ability.Thorough knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures, including those related to supervising employees.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Demonstrated financial acumen and/or related experience in fiscal management, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and/or fiscal operations oversight.Advanced knowledge and understanding of K-14 education (including knowledge of college entrance and high school graduation requirements), policies, and educational equity issues.Extensive experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged and/or academically at-risk students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.Proficient in speaking, writing, and communicating in Spanish.Special Conditions of Employment:Satisfactory criminal history background check.Must maintain a valid CA DL, a clean DMV record and enrollment in DMV Pull-Notice Program.Must be willing to work evenings, early mornings, and weekends; to work overtime when required; and to travel along to school sites in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.Must be able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.UCSB is a Tobacco-Free environment.Job Functions and Percentages of Time:40% Program Design and Assessment:Oversees the Partnership High Schools and EAOP Dual Service Model.Oversees and coordinates the implementation of College Going Initiatives.30% Partnerships & Collaborative Endeavors:Works with district partners, precollege programs, and other collaborators to design, fund and implement new academic preparation initiatives.10% Personnel & Supervision:Directly responsible for all personnel matters relating to EAOP staff.5% Communications/Public Relations:Writes news releases on program events, activities, services, and achievements.UC Vaccination Programs Policy:As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California Policy on Vaccination Programs.Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement:
