JOB TITLE:
Video Producer
JOB PURPOSE:Under limited supervision, perform advanced level video and multimedia production for the University of Wyoming Extension and College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources. Develop, plan, write, produce, direct and edit video productions. Gather videos and photos for use in a wide range of educational and marketing publications, media productions, and across multiple digital media platforms. Collaborate with other communications team members and Extension educators and specialists to help grow awareness of and access to Extension resources for Wyoming residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Produce, direct, and edit educational, informational, and promotional video productions for delivery across a range of media platforms including social media, Extension websites, YouTube, etc.Collaborate with Extension educators and specialists and other college faculty to develop clear and meaningful multimedia products (including videos, podcasts, VR/AR experiences) that expand Extension's impact among assorted target audiences.Perform video production tasks from pre-production through post-production and asset management using industry standard tools, techniques, and processes.Provide training and support for Extension educators, specialists, and clientele in simple DIY video production techniques and processes.Assist in managing multimedia assets across multiple platforms including YouTube, Facebook, multiple CMS platforms, and departmental storage devices.Perform liaison duties with other campus media units and electronic media organizations such as radio and television stations and the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.Thoughtfully consider new and underserved audiences in the production of multimedia products.Remain current on industry standard best practices across media production and educational communication and explore ways to use innovative and new media approaches to maintain effective communication with Extension clientele.Field produce multi-camera web-based video streams at hybrid Extension events.Adapt creatively to various environments, both indoors and out. Choose the appropriate location, proper equipment, and lighting.Willingness to travel throughout the year across Wyoming to capture materials necessary for media production.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:Assist with digital asset management for communications team.Collaborate with other members of Extension communications team to produce rich multimedia content as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience:
2 years work related experienceRequired licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:Demonstrated ability to create multimedia products following industry standard practices.Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Masters degreeExperience working in higher educationSubstantial experience in media productionAdvanced knowledge of media production techniques including new and innovative methodsExperience using analytics from multiple sources to improve media production techniques and more effectively communicate with target audiencesExperience with AR/VR and/or drone production practicesExperience training others in DIY video production techniques
