JOB TITLE:

Work Study - WPM IT/Engineering Associate

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

WPM is a statewide media entity that provides public broadcast programs to Wyoming via radio and beyond Wyoming via streaming services. Formats include national/international news, regional and local coverage, three genres of music, cultural programming, and talk. The network serves all people living in Wyoming as well asnational/international via streaming. This would include the above listed clients. All programming on the Wyoming Public Media network follows FCC requirements for non-commercial educational broadcasters. This includes specific service focused on topics relevant to communities: Indigenous, Hispanic, health, education, economy, criminal justice, legislature, municipal government, natural resources, environment, energy, agriculture, tourism, and other subsection of Wyoming's economic drivers.

JOB PURPOSE:

Assist with operating Wyoming Public Media broadcast network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain current studio operation such as computer assistance, IT help, and broadcast equipment install.Monitor radio site functionality and equipment.Set up and troubleshoot RF equipment.Occasionally travel to radio sites for installation and maintenance.REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education : High School Diploma required. Enrollment in college level engineering and/or IT disciplines.Experience : Experience in digital audio formats. Basic knowledge of broadcasting and ability to learn FCC guidelines. Impeccable reliability, focus, ability to problem-solveand to take direction.Other requirements:

Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace/Adobe. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to learn RF equipment and layer 3 networking.

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:

Working with broadcast equipment in studio and on-site; working with IT applications in broadcasting; understanding of the business side of broadcast technology; working in public radio and digital platforms.
