We are looking for a versatile, creative, and experienced
Editorial Content Manager
to join the Marketing & Communications team. This is a full-time, year-round staff position with in-person (on-campus) responsibilities. We are excited to find an individual who is a great writer and storyteller, a sharp copy editor, and a collaborative teammate. This role will require a high level of journalistic drive and a passion for communicating the mission and work of the school to families, students, faculty, staff, donors, alumni, and the public.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help us tell the incredible stories from Seattle Academy.
Write and edit short and long-form content for our many print and digital platforms, including email newsletters, social media, our website, and our biannual printed school magazine, SAAS In Focus.
Curate content across constituent groups and platforms.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (i.e. faculty, staff, students) to gather, edit, and curate content for stories, social media posts, articles, videos, and more. We have a full-time photographer and graphic designer who you’d be collaborating with regularly, but some basic photography, design, and/or video editing skills of your own will help you be successful in this role.
Lend your voice.
Support the Admissions and Development teams for written materials (i.e. admissions viewbook, Open House materials, Annual Report, etc.); collaborate with the Director of Alumni Relations to share and amplify alumni stories; support and assist with critical messaging and communications needs for the Head of School and Senior Leadership Team.
Collaborate with our energetic Marketing & Communications team!
As part of our full-service and dynamic marketing team, you’ll support the school’s content marketing strategy, manage social media, and be part of many community and school events (assisting with setup/breakdown, event logistics, etc.). Our team is highly collaborative, always ready to jump in to support each others’ projects and initiatives.
Willingness to take on other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
Excellent writing skills and sharp journalistic instincts — you can sniff out and chase down a good story. You write clearly and engagingly at every length, from short social posts to long-form narratives and profiles.
Strong editing and proofreading skills — you can expertly revise and polish other people’s writing.
Superior time management and attention to detail — you can efficiently manage multiple, simultaneous priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
High level of professionalism, great people skills — you are a team player who can effectively drive projects forward while staying open and comfortable with iteration and feedback. You can collaborate and engage effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders.

Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for internal events and select external events.
This position is a salaried exempt position with a salary range of $80,000 to $88,000, depending on relative experience, and is based on working a twelve-month schedule.
