The Music Director supports the mission and vision of Christ the Redeemer by leading the music ministry.

About our Music Ministry
We worship God with our whole selves, singing songs that connect with our hearts as well as with our minds. We sing modern worship music, repurposed hymns, and classic hymns. While we love a lot of modern worship music, we do not let the top 100 CCLI songs drive our musical choices. Rather the music director in collaboration with the rector decides what songs to sing based on what would be most edifying to the congregation and most glorifying to God.
The overall feel of our music at Christ the Redeemer is sincere, eclectic, celebratory, and folksy. We also find ways to creatively engage musically with our Anglican tradition. Examples of this include singing a refrain during the reading of the psalm, making stylistic changes during the church seasons, and finding creative verses for the service music (Agnus Dei, Sanctus, Kyrie, Trisagion, etc.). Musicians that we have recently enjoyed drawing from include Sandra McCracken, Wendell Kimbrough, Shane and Shane, Bethel, Indelible Grace, and Passion City to name a few.
Requirements:
Have experience in musical leadership.
Have a significant understanding of worship and music in order to supervise and direct the music ministry of the congregation.
General Responsibilities:
A willingness to listen to the Holy Spirit in preparing and leading in worship
A member of Christ the Redeemer and willing to serve
Embrace the vision and values of Christ the Redeemer
Willing to pray regularly for music ministry at Christ the Redeemer
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead music for Sunday services and Holy Days
Choose songs in consultation with the rector
Add songs to Proclaim software for worship services
Schedule AV volunteers
Practice with musicians
Prepare chord charts, whether by using Song select, or creating your own in Planning Center.
