Music or Worship Director,Other Professional Ministry Positions,Support PositionThe director of music & media position is a part-time position consisting of approximately 8-12 hours per week. The director of music & media serves to help cultivate an atmosphere and culture of worship at EBC. The director of music & media will plan, prepare, and lead the worship band to guide the congregation in corporate worship through music and prayer during the weekly Sunday service. They will also serve as the point person for the media team to adjust and prepare the sound board and slide presentation for the Sunday morning service. They will oversee the use and maintenance of all microphones, monitors, instruments, and media technology as needed. The director of music and media will aid in the creation and distribution of content to social media platforms and provide support and direction for EBC’s website and online presence.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCultivate an atmosphere and culture of worship of our Lord in the Sunday service and in the life of the church.Select the songs & hymns for the Sunday service & communicate those selections to members of the worship band, media team members, and other appropriate parties.Rehearse with the worship band weekly, including a short devotional and/or prayer time.Perform musically according to ability, including instrumentation and vocals.Assist the pastors & elders in preparing & leading the Sunday service.Meet weekly with the pastors to discuss & evaluate the direction of music, media, & the Sunday service at EBC.Direct and oversee the church choir, bell choir, soloists, and performers of special music for holidays & special services (including Good Friday, Christmas Eve, and Ash Wednesday).Direct the media team to make sure that the sound board & Sunday slide presentation are properly adjusted, arranged, and prepared.Test the instruments, microphones, monitors, and other tech on stage for Sunday worship.Build the worship band and media team by edifying and engaging with current members as well as inviting and equipping new members to join and utilize their specific giftings.Introduce new songs to the worship band & to the congregation (preferably at least once per month).Aid in the creation and distribution of content for the church’s social media accounts as well as providing support and oversight of the church’s website and overall web presence.Pray for worship team members as well as the greater church on a regular basis.Other duties as assigned.Candidates must profess faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, agree with East Baptist Church’s statement of faith , and adhere to the tenets and doctrines aligned with the historic Christian faith.
