Learns project management principles for commercial construction projects, collaborating with experienced team members from design to closeout.Supports complex relationships (owner/client, architect, subcontractors) with guidance from experienced managers.Gains experience in construction processes, including estimating, design development, safety preparation, buy-out, schedule management, and closeout.Assists in preconstruction activities such as permitting, value engineering, bidding process, and subcontract issuance.Coordinates project processes and meetings, attends owner and subcontractor meetings, and maintains project documentation.Supports project superintendent with tasks like project photography, field documentation, and administrative work.Assists in closeout phase, coordinating site de-mobilization, and ensuring compliance with "green" communities requirements for government credits or LEED certification.Effectively engages clients through active listening to understand their goals. Asks thoughtful and relevant questions.Prepares proposals, status updates, schedules, etc. for project managers and superintendents to share with clients.Develops effective preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, and schedule development skills necessary for the project.Champions safety as a priority, demonstrating a Safety-First approach consistently from initial project logistics, means and methods planning through buy-out and completion.Tracks company “lessons learned” and shares client evaluations with team members and leadership.Supports client expectations, in coordination with project management and project superintendent team, to generate repeat work and manage client relationships.Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering required, or equivalent work experience.Must have a valid driver’s license.Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Procore Project Management Software, and internet research tools.
