Founded by a leadership team with a deep understanding and personal experience in virtually every facet of real estate development, Ascent is uniquely positioned to create custom, innovative lending solutions for a variety of real estate development business strategies.The Role.The Director of Vendor Management is a critical role that is responsible for overseeing the full vendor lifecycle, from sourcing and onboarding to contract negotiation and performance monitoring. This position facilitates cross-functional collaboration across internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors, and ensures vendors deliver optimal service and cost-efficiency. The Director of Vendor Management is a hands-on leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of driving vendor strategies that scale with business growth.This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino offices, Monday-Thursday, and remote on Fridays.

The Work.Develop and implement a vendor management strategy that ensures cost efficiency and maintains high-quality standards.Lead the sourcing, evaluation, selection, and negotiation process for new vendors, by performing cost-benefit analyses to ensure the best terms and alignment with company objectives.Ensure vendor services maintain and exceed the Company’s budgetary, quality, and compliance standards.Implement and manage a performance monitoring KPIs, framework and dashboard to evaluate vendor service delivery, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).Create and maintain process documentation for internal training and performance improvement analysis.Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, to foster open communication and navigate issues effectively.Manage the vendor onboarding process by sending, tracking, retrieving, and reviewing sensitive documentation, including W-9 forms, Certificates of Insurance, and Vendor Agreements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively ensure their needs are being met.Manage the communications between internal stakeholders and vendors.Safeguard business continuity by identifying and mitigating risks associated with vendors, such as compliance, financial, and operational risks.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in vendor management to identify ways to improve processes, increase efficiency, and leverage technology.Your Skills and Experience.Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or other related areas; or equivalent work experience.Work experience in the commercial real estate or financial services industries is preferred.6+ years of experience in vendor management, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.Proven track record of successful vendor negotiation, contract management, and performance optimization.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost management and risk mitigation.Experience with vendor management and contract management software.Experience managing projects that include internal and external stakeholders and vendors.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and work-life balance.
