maintaining strong supplier relationships, supplier score cards, and all-encompassing domestic and global supplier management.Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.Manages the sourcing and development of suppliers and contract negotiations locally and globally.Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.Prepares and presents market conditions and materials cost reports.Prepares Key Performance Indicators on a monthly basis, attends weekly leadership team staff meetings, and attends quarterly strategy meetings.Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.Attends 7 am daily production meeting to understand stock-outs and urgent production needs and root causes of any purchasing issues.Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.Participates in inventory management activities, including knowing when materials are received, ensuring inventory is counted, appropriate storage, and transportation of materials.Manages supplier relationships and performance against established contracts and processes.Manages all commodity team projects.Collaborates with other departments to integrate strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.Manages supply chain productivity savings initiatives and activities.Leads the purchasing team, including performance management, career development, time and attendance, and identifying and attracting top talent.Develops, proposes, and/or implements improvements to sourcing policies.Manages Purchase Order processing and establishes key metrics for tracking commitments of materials delivery to supermarket group.Handles special supply chain and operations projects as assigned including continuous improvement initiatives.Participates in Lean events with active involvement in CI initiatives to continue to foster the continuous improvement culture.Reports unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed.Position Details:Candidate must reside in Houston TX, or surrounding areas.Work week and schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 5:00PM, some evening work and weekend work will be required.Compensation package offered: a competitive base salary paid bi-weekly with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.Manage a team of buyers and multiple global supplier activities.Position reports to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain.New hire orientation is provided.Office and cubicle environment in a manufacturing facility.On the job training on processes and procedures.Immigration sponsorship is not provided for this position.PPE requirements include safety glasses and steel toes.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or Procurement and 5 years in sourcing and/or purchasing, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.Electrical and electronics parts procurement experience.3 years leading a procurement team within a manufacturing environment.Experience in managing Supplier Development Programs to improve OTD, Quality, and Service.Previous experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.Must be able to mitigate Single Source Suppliers by identifying alternatives in the industry.Broad commodity sourcing knowledge.Demonstrate ability to visualize and manage the implementation of creative solutions and respond appropriately and timely to customer needs.Proven customer service, project management, analytical, leadership, negotiation, problem solving, contracts, and financial skills.Solid change management and conflict management skills.Excellent communications, facilitation, and presentation skills.Proficient in standard business enterprise software.Proficient in MS office programs.Excellent analytical, problem solving organizational and project management skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.Record of successfully collaborating with and influencing senior management and peers.Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in cross functional teams.Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability, and professional demeanor.Must be able to make effective presentations to diverse groups.Must be able to perform financial calculations and create and manage budgets.Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.Must have a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.Is open to change and new information.Show respect, empathy, understanding, and concern for others.Demonstrate a personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.Physical Demands:Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.Minimal balancing, lifting/carrying up to 25lbs, collating/filing, and dialing up to 10%.Occasional standing and walking between 11% and 33%.Constant use of a computer monitor and keyboard, sitting, seeing, hearing, writing, and speaking greater than 66%.Preferred Qualifications:5 years of experience in Metal Casting Industry and/or Injection Molding Industry.CPSM or national
