The Shift Leader assists in inspiring and developing their team, upholding Luna Grill’s high standards, and providing exceptional guest service and awareness to ensure the guests of Luna Grill will become “Raving Fans.” Will be responsible for running a great shift by providing leadership and guidance in utilization of training tools to the Cashiers and assist the manager as needed.Provides knowledge to cashiers and team trainers and empowers the team to provide great guest service and awareness.Assists with training of team members.Informs guests of LTO’s and menu changes and makes recommendations accordingly.Demonstrates knowledge of the brand and menu items by answering questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.Takes guest’s food orders and handles cash and credit transactions according to standards.Works with kitchen staff to meet any special requirements for ingredients and preparation of food.Delivers food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.Performs side work at the start and end of each shift as required and checks team members out of position if scheduled as MOD.Maintains cleanliness, organization, and mise en place in the service area, dining room, and restrooms.Monitors and observes guest’s dining experience. Ensures guests are satisfied with the food and service. Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.Thanks guests for their visit and invites them to return.Delegates tasks to front of the house team regarding day-to-day operations.Assists with counting inventory and entering into the computer system.Assists with morning admin duties, bank runs, DBR, placing and invoicing Sysco/beer/wine.Assists with training new front of the house team members.Ensures restaurant is running efficiently while Manager is absent.Attends all scheduled team member meetings/training and brings suggestions for improvements.Takes necessary meal and rest breaks accordingly.Clocks in and out of the restaurant in a timely manner.Appropriately tends to guests using the BLAST method.Managers must adhere to Rest & Meal Policy.Other duties may be assigned.Education/Experience Requirements
One (1) year restaurant experience preferred and or team management/supervisorial; Luna Grill experience is ideal. High School Diploma Required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must represent Luna Grill’s 12 Characteristics as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.Possess and instill high quality standards for production and guest service. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.Safety-minded. Effective communication skills.Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.Trustworthy and reliable. Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system. Computer literate using Microsoft Office.Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred - must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in the primary language of the work location.Physical Demands/Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stands/walks continuously (up to 5 hours) through the shift. Frequent bending, twisting neck and waist, reaching above and below shoulders and squat, use hands, reaching or grasping with hands and arms, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Must comply with Company’s Appearance and Dress Code standard as set forth in the Team Member Handbook. Works primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted environment. Makes frequent trips to the kitchen, where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floors are uneven and may be slippery from moisture and grease.
