Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, or related field and at least two years of experience in youth mentorship programming.Demonstrated supervisory experience.Demonstrated commitment to ending violence against women and girls.Proven ability to prepare federal grant reports and other correspondence required by funders.Experience conducting community outreach for program recruitment as well as public awareness and education purposes.Willingness to work flexible schedules as deemed necessary.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Other duties as assigned.Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will maintain operational responsibility for implementing the Male Youth Mentorship Program, a community-driven, male-focused violence against women and girls (VAWG) prevention initiative.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervising program staff, providing oversight on program planning, implementing, directing, and coordinating program and operational activities.Ensuring compliance with program/grant requirements.Preparing program reports, including those that are funder-prescribed.Managing the implementation of the organization’s outreach and mentorship as it relates to violence prevention and intervention.Staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices within the prevention VAWG arena.Maintaining strong relationships (including via coordination and facilitation of meetings) with vendors, consultants, business community, and partner organizations and cultivating new relationships with these groups, where appropriate.Attending meetings with affinity groups, particularly those involved in reentry and workforce development, representing the organization in a professional manner.Promoting an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment where all program participants will be assured that they can and will be heard.Serving as an Ambassador of Gang Alternative, Inc.Other duties as assigned.
