Firmware Engineering Internship

is offered in the High Performance Analog Business Group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.Responsibilities may include:Develop catalog and custom firmware for various gas gauge and other embedded devicesWork as a member of a team to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab dataParticipate in project and resource planningCollaborate with distributor and contractor engineers to deliver outsourced productsWrite design documents, failure analysis reports, and customer training materialsAnalyze and breakdown complex assignments into smaller, measurable tasksProvide weekly reports updating management on progress and statusAble to write high-quality design documentationAble to work with customers and gain their trust and respectQualifications:Currently pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer EngineeringMinimum GPA of 3.3Able to read schematics and/or have done analog or power circuit design projects/PCB design/layoutWorking knowledge of 8, 16, or 32-bit microcontroller architecture, preferably ARMExperience working with version control and defect trackingExpert C/C++ and Python programmer with strong understanding of code generationGeneral understanding of assembly languageWorked with small RTOS or micro-kernel; multithreaded programming environmentExposure to power measurement equipment such as precision source meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers preferredDevice driver experience (PC or embedded)Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Self-starter with good communication skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical informationDetail-oriented to ensure design and delivery of high-yielding productsAbility to enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment and as part of a team
