Aligns IT strategy to business unit strategy enabling sustainable growth and profitability.Leader on Technology and Service Logistics business unit executive team. Participates in business unit planning, keeps informed and shares knowledge and perspective of trends in information technology and systems as related to the business unit’s competitive position.Leader on the IT executive team. Coordinates with regional and global IT in developing the business unit IT strategy that aligns with corporate strategy, architecture, policies and standards.Accountable for business unit customer facing IT services that include pre-sales support that includes but not limited to defining requirements, IT solutions design, articulating value, collaboration with pursuit key workstream owners and supporting customer presentation.Responsible for business unit IT in the delivery of customer projects (IT Project Management) including new implementations as well as version upgrades and enhancements to existing operations. Further, IT Project Management compliance with global methodology and the use of standard Project Delivery documents and tools.Ensures compliance of DHL Group Information Security policy and guidelines for Business Unit IT in the activities of integration design, configurations, development, and deployment.Analyzes complex IT issues and improves, changes or adapts existing methods and techniques to deliver technology and innovation that influences for the better the way the Business Unit operates for productivity, efficiencies, revenue or profitability.ResponsibilitiesThe VP IT role has accountability of the following…IT project implementations in the support of BU new business pursuits and existing BU operations improvements.The BU IT team’s project delivery performance against project expectations – budget, schedule, scope and quality, using DHL Supply Chain and DHL Group technical standards and architecture, solution products while using DHL Group standard project methodology.Serve as the IT lead for any M&A due diligence activities.Collaborating with the DHL Supply Chain North America IT executive team for enhancing the North America IT function services and performance.Resource planning using demand forecasting for new business and technology trends, developing BU IT staffing plans and budget including Business Unit specific strategy and investments for roles, skills and competency. Planning for recruiting, hiring and onboarding new roles as well as developing current staff/team to meet the demands for the future.BU IT team development, mentoring and skills development.BU IT budget planning and IT P&L management.Coordinates the preparation of IT roadmaps for applications and services in use by the BU and aligned with DHL Supply Chain products and Center of Excellence strategy.Customers, Suppliers & StakeholdersReaches agreement with external parties and others within the organization to accept proposals and programs where there may be little interest in cooperating or participating.Negotiates critical targets and objectives where concepts and ideas need to be sold to others.Negotiates agreements and contracts and has the mandate/authority to sign them, slightly changing T&Cs.Initiates cross-Managed Assigned North America Sector activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of IT services.Approves all major BU IT projects including integration projects at the regional level.Oversees the delivery of agreed programs and projects within time, cost and quality constraints, within the BU.Recruits and develops the members of the BU’s IT leadership team; keeps them motivated and oversees their project and priority assignments.Approves key personnel decisions for the BU IT function.Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the company, division and BU.Leads and manages team; determines team structure, roles and performance targets in co-operation with general management.Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct reports.Required Education and ExperienceMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in IT functions with leadership responsibility.Minimum 7 years of relevant supply chain, 3PL, logistics experience in IT functions with leadership responsibility.Manages and leads teams through expertise in all areas of the IT function.Our organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
