The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine is committed to academic excellence and diversity and is seeking Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientists in the field of Liver cell biology research.The Department plays a key role in the University's missions: achieving the highest standards in patient care, research, and education. The Department provides diagnostic pathology services in various subspecialties with highly trained subspecialists recognized for their expertise.The Project Scientists will be responsible for performing basic research regarding intercellular vesicle trafficking in the liver, participating in projects related to understanding the complex mechanism of hepatocarcinogenesis and drug resistance. Techniques include partial hepatectomy, DEN, CCl4 and clonal tracing in vivo, vector construction, CRISPR knock-in system, vesicle isolation, and various microscopy techniques. The successful candidates will also manage projects, analyze data, teach, prepare presentations and reports, and publish studies.Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.A link to the full description of the Project Scientist series is provided for your review:

(required at time of application):Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD in cell/molecular biology, liver biology, or related fields.Candidates must have at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience in one or more of the following areas: liver regeneration, cancer biology, organelle analysis, vesicle trafficking, or related fields.Application Requirements
