We are currently seeking committed and passionate Instructors to lead Academic, Enrichment and Recreation activities for the Expanded Learning Program at Lakeshore Elementary. Our ideal Program Instructor will have a strong dedication to youth development, a sense of creativity and enthusiasm and be able to commit to working the entire school year.Benefits:Pay rate: $22 - $26/hour depending on experienceFlexible hours negotiated upon hiring (20 per week)16 paid holidays per yearStepping stone into career in education, or running your own after school programEmployee assistance program, dental, vision, wellness program, life insurance, flexible spending account, 403(b), commuter benefits (based on total weekly hours)Medical insurance (based on total weekly hours)Minimum Requirements:Ability to work Monday – Friday 2:00pm until 6:30 pm for the duration of the school year.Must have an AA degree or higher, 48 + college credits OR pass the SFUSD Instructional Aide ExamMust pass a criminal background check and have TB ClearanceMust be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and BACR staffPassionate about youth developmentStrong classroom management skillsAbility to plan and facilitate activities for up to 20 studentsMust be able to work independently or part of a teamActively supervise and ensure student safety at all timesModel positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors and languagePreferred:Experience working with Elementary youthResponsibilities:Support students in developing the skills they need to be successful in school and lifeProvide homework and academic support for program participantsFacilitate, write, and execute physical and academic skill-building activities based on students' skill level, learning targets, instructional strategies, and state educational standardsActively supervise and promote a safe and positive classroom environmentModel positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors, and languageCommunicate regularly with the coordinator to ensure consistencyCommunicate to parents about student progress and behaviorEnsure that all school space and equipment is left clean and orderlyMaintain appropriate, professional and kid-friendly speech, behavior and attire at all timesMaintain accurate attendance records and reporting proceduresAttend and participate in all staff meetings and ongoing trainingsAbout UsBay Area Community Resources (BACR) promotes the healthy development of individuals, families and communities through direct services, volunteerism, and partnerships in the San Francisco Bay Area.BACR is an equal opportunity employer.
