RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Florida Team. As a Geotechnical Project Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for a variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations and develop design computations; and prepare geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Essential FunctionsAssist in developing the geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs.Perform site reconnaissance and preliminary field work including hand auger borings.Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software.Preparation of SHWT Reports.Preparation of bridge, roadway soil survey and retaining wall reports and foundation recommendations.Foundation recommendations for miscellaneous structures (i.e. signs, signals, box culverts).Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering.
Required Skills and ExperiencePassion for client service and engineering.BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.7 to 10+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, FDOT experience.Professional Engineer License is required.Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Deep, FB-Pier, Slide2, Settle3, Slope/W and GRLWEAP.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of Microstation/Open Roads Designer (ORD).
Preferred Skills and ExperienceMS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
