Job Description:As a member of the College Health Services staff, the primary care clinician/NP provides direct primary care services to Mount Holyoke College students within the NP's scope of practice. The NP also participates in CHS programs and public health initiatives that foster health & wellbeing of our students. This position is full time for the academic year (40wk) with summers off.

In all professional matters, the NP maintains a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and supports the mission and philosophy of College Health Services, the Division of Student Life, and Mount Holyoke College as well promote multiculturalism and inclusivity for all.Support MHC student success through the delivery of high quality, comprehensive, evidence-based, cost-effective primary care, in collaboration with supervising physician and within designated scope of practice.Medical management of those seeking primary care services at student health clinicScreening and preventive servicesComprehensive assessment of acute illnesses, injuries, and undifferentiated symptom presentations, including cost-effective diagnostic testingPrimary care management of chronic health conditions, including mental healthProvision of high quality, evidence-based treatments, patient education, and as needed consultations/referrals to specialty cliniciansMaintain proper, professional, and timely medical documentationAdhere to all ethical and legal professional standards, most especially confidentialityShare in on-call services for weekends & after hours, offering direct consultation & support for triage nursing &/or student patientsClinical consultation and collaborationConsultative support for nursing and laboratory staff within CHS, as needed during routine workday and for special projectsCollaboration with other healthcare team members within CHS and MHC (physical therapy; counseling service clinicians and prescribers, athletic trainers)Coordinate services with "home" health care teamThird party consultation (ie families, MHC colleagues) for issues related to individual students

Non-clinical activitiesParticipation working groups &/or projects (ie education & outreach, quality improvement, diversity, IT)Professional development, participation on college/divisional/departmental committees;Clinical teaching, as requested and supported by supervisorMaintain professional certifications and licensureOther duties as assignedEducation/experience requirementsMasters of Science in NursingCompletion of an NP training program from an accredited school, preferably Family NP; Adult, Pediatric and Women's Health NP will be considered if appropriate experience with full spectrum primary carePrefer at least 3 years of clinical experience in primary care; will consider those more recently completing training program; experience in college health a plus

Licensure/certification requirementsMassachusetts state Advanced Practice Nursing licensure;CPR certificationDEA certification or eligibility

Minimum skill summaryFull spectrum primary care skills including mental health, ambulatory basic orthopedics, GYN care; skills with common office procedures and gender affirming health care a plus.Knowledge of the developmental issues of adolescents/young adults; experience working with college population desirable.Computer skills sufficient to chart in electronic health record and facility with basic email, word processing.Solid and respectful communication skills, both verbal and written.Demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and promoting health equity
