The mission of Gaston County Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) is to preserve and enhance the quality of life for the residents and visitors of Gaston County by providing superior quality Emergency Medical Service. This position is designed for individuals seeking to start their career as an EMT with real world experience.Examples of Duties
The primary duty of this position will be to shadow GEMS staff members during daily operations and tasks. Trainees will be asked to participate in different functions and/or events in order to build needed experience to become a certified EMT. Trainees may be required to complete additional duties such as, but not limited to:Inventory medical supplies Clean and decontaminate Emergency Response Vehicles Inventory and stock ambulances Perform warehouse inventory control Inventory and stock station supplies
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation with a high school diploma or GED equivalency required. A valid driver's license is required.Additional Information
Minimally qualified applicants may start at 25% of the salary range.
Candidates selected will undergo a background check. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
