Job DescriptionJob Title: Clinical Nurse - Telemetry
Job Specialty: Telemetry
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Every Other Weekend Required
Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience with 2 years in telemetry & critical care
License: NYS RN License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have: Ventilator experience; EPIC experience highly preferred
Job Description:
- Provide safe, competent, quality care grounded in nursing theory and evidence-based practice.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs using critical thinking skills.- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in delivering nursing care.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team for effective patient care planning and management.- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, and planning post-hospital care.- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.- Deliver patient care efficiently within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model.- Role model patient-centered care through key actions like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Discharge Wrap-Up.- Respect patient values, preferences, and cultural diversity in all care aspects.- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.- Initiate service recovery for patient concerns, escalating issues when necessary.- Conduct purposeful hourly rounding, addressing care priorities.- Ensure quality and safety in patient care, identifying improvement opportunities.- Participate in quality improvement projects and nursing research activities.- Use institutional information technology for quality and performance improvement documentation.- Perform assigned charge nurse duties and coordinate resources efficiently.- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.- Support professional development and competency advancement in nursing practice.- Encourage lifelong learning and involvement in nursing committees and initiatives.
