Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at: Greater Greenville Mental Health Center - Simpsonville Clinic

Under clinical supervision of supervising physician and programmatic supervision of Medical Director, provide direct patient care and evaluations (PMA's, etc.) to Adult, Children, and Adolescent Clients within the scope of S.C. Nurse Practitioner authority, coordinate care, supervise treatment team and provide direct supervision where applicable.

Job functions include, but are not limited to:

(1) Provides clinical assessments, medication management, medication administration and individual treatment to Adult, Children, and Adolescent Clients. Prescribes psychotropic medications according to written protocols. Monitors medication compliance, response, side effects, and outcomes of treatment.

(2) Provides leadership for treatment teams and provides guidance and consultation function for nursing staff.

(3) Provides backup and consultation to center RN's. Functions as an active participant in clinical staffing for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning.

(4) Provides education concerning medication and treatment modalities for patients.

(5) Provides phone consultation to patients with medication/treatment issues and questions. Links center patients to appropriate medical and community services when applicable.

(6) Orders lab work and screens incoming lab work per protocol.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as a registered nurse with official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner by the SC Board of Nursing, practicing in the extended role with prescriptive authority in the state of S.C. Related nursing experience.
