JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care -
Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education and experience. Physicians may work in inpatient and/or outpatient settings as needed to ensure appropriate medical staffing. Participate in safe, effective and compassionate patient care, commensurate with their level of advancement and responsibility. Examine patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determine nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribe and administer medications and immunizations. Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care. May formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan of care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment. May also plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients. Effective Communication -
Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care. Regulatory Compliance -
Must be credentialed and privileged through the medical staff process and be appointed to the medical staff of CCHMC prior to performing clinical duties. Policy Compliance -
Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Unrestricted licensed physician Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division Experience in specialty area may be required based on the physician's assignment Adv Cardiovascular Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support Neonatal Resuscitation CPR
