JOB SUMMARY
The Paramedic delivers patient care within the scope of his/her practice in the Emergency Medical Services and assists as needed in the facility. Paramedic is a member of the Emergency Medical Services team and must work with other healthcare providers to deliver care to medically ill and traumatized patients of various criticalities. Emergency Medical Services Paramedic serves in the leadership role of EMT's during an Emergency Medical Services call and on-duty. They provide or assist in patient assessments, treatment and transportation. Must participate in the operation of the department; which includes but is not limited to, staffing, daily equipment inspections, yearly education day, mandatory training and fifty percent of the department monthly training to maintain clinical privilege.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Currently licensed as a Wyoming EMT-Paramedic and National Registry - Paramedic.
EXPERIENCE
One plus years of EMS service preferred. (Basic; Intermediate; Paramedic).
SKILLS
Must have excellent leadership skills. Well-developed written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills are necessary. Good driving skills are essential. Must have the ability to quickly and calmly react to life-threatening situations. Ability to communicate with a variety of people of different cultural backgrounds and educational levels. Ability to assess and treat patients to the US DOT and Wyoming Office of EMS, EMT-Paramedic level. Partial list of skills:

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
AHA Healthcare BLS Provider, AHA ACLS Provider, AHA PALS or EMSC Advanced Provider
PHTLS Advanced Provider. Current Wyoming Driver's License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSIs knowledgeable of and works within all pertinent, established CRH and CRH Emergency Medical Services Policies, Procedures and Protocols.Provides leadership and direction for the Emergency Medical Services crew on duty.Provides problem-solving for situations that require immediate solutions that effect the department's operation, which may include but is not limited to, staffing on an emergency basis.Responsible for scheduling and staffing necessary for daily operations of the Emergency Medical Services department.Act at all times in a professional-manner and shall be able to handle conflict situations with good judgment.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Documents assessments and care of patients on the Emergency Medical Services medical record. This includes all associated reports and run logs.Responsible for the daily operation, inspection, and restocking of the ambulance and equipment.Responds in a timely manner to emergencies when on duty or on call.Treats patients, public and other healthcare providers and public safety personnel with respect and dignity.Attends and participates in at least fifty percent of the department's monthly training on an annual basis.Maintains competency on all equipment within scope of practiceMaintain a professional appearance of the approved uniform and dress code in accordance to the CRH EMS Uniform Policy.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONSAbility to safely operate an ambulance in non-emergency and emergency driving conditions.Assist in the Emergency Department under the direction and supervision of ED physician. While assisting in the ED in the capacity of Paramedic, all medications which may be administered under the Paramedic Scope of Practice shall be done so only with the voice or written order of the ED physician on duty.Enhance growth by obtaining an ITLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor and BLS Instructor Certification.Respond as a First Responder in out of town service areas if near the emergency.Assist students and observers with EMS operations.Must have a working knowledge of the geographic area, street systems, and demographics of CRH Emergency Medical Services coverage area.Assist in community service events.Works on special projects as assigned by the EMS Department Director.Perform other duties as assigned or requested.Respects the dignity, welfare, basic rights of all patients and employees.Maintain insurability for hospital motor vehicle coverage.Assist in security operations of CRH and its facilities.
