Position Summary
This position is a full-time faculty and administrative position for the Respiratory Care program located at the Erie, Pennsylvania campus. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership for the CoARC-accredited programs including, but not limited to, responsibility for communication, ongoing program planning and assessment, and fiscal management. Responsibilities will include ensuring that the program meets the requirements of the CoARC standards. The individual will participate in curriculum development and provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction. Release time will be available to support the administrative functions of the position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The functions below are detailed in the faculty handbook in Volume IV of the Institutional Policy Manual.
1. Teach 24 or 27 credit hours in the academic year or as specified by the faculty member's appointment notice; student course evaluations are to be completed in each course. Faculty are expected to employ sound pedagogical practices and to use technology as appropriate, including the University's learning management system. Faculty shall assist with course revisions and curriculum development as needed.
2. Achieve appropriate student learning outcomes in all courses taught.
3. Participate in service to the University, the community, and to their profession. Attend convocations, commencement exercises and community meetings.
4. Participate in ongoing professional development.
5. Assist, advise, and mentor students enrolled in the University.
6. Fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as described in Volume IV of the Gannon University Institutional Policy Manual, which contains the approved policies and procedures of the University concerning the terms and conditions of faculty employment at the University.
Required Qualifications
Education: Candidates are required to possess a minimum of a master's degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
Licenses and Certifications: Candidates must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.
Required Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), with at least two (2) years of experience in clinical respiratory care; must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program as either an appointed faculty member or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students enrolled in such programs; must be able to complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program in a timely manner upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership and management experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills, active participation in relevant professional associations, and completion of a specialized credential (NPS, ACCS, SDS, or other) are preferred.

Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with a busy academic environment.
Work is performed in busy classrooms and laboratory spaces, office settings, clinical sites.
