The Allied and Population Health Department at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking a dedicated leader to join our team as a Program Director and Clinical Instructor for our Respiratory Therapy Program. In this role, you'll manage and advance departmental initiatives, champion curriculum improvements, and play an active part in shaping the direction of our department. The Allied and Population Health Department at SDSU is part of the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. We offer dynamic academic programs with high job placement and board pass rates. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Fulfill the responsibilities of the Program Director as specified in the Accreditation Standards for Entry into Respiratory Care Professional Practice document of the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).* Organize and teach courses for the Respiratory Care Program that align with CoARC and NBRC objectives/learning outcomes.* Oversee curriculum development and assessment of Respiratory Care Program courses.* Day to day departmental management and development.* Develop and apply effective mechanisms for course and curriculum improvement, including periodic surveys of graduates.* Provide leadership by example through active participation in service to school, university and community.* Oversee student recruitment, selection and advancement.* Provide resource management, student success and implementation of teaching and learning best practices for the department.* Participation in faculty evaluation related to the education mission.* Direct, oversee, and maintain compliance standards in conjunction with the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
SALARY RANGE:
The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, minimum of $85,000. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university's guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree in respiratory care or an associated field from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).* Valid RRT credential and current state license, or eligibility to earn licensure in South Dakota.* Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.* Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across multiple levels within health systems.* Experience or potential to mentor junior faculty in areas of teaching, service and professional goals.* Potential to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials and direct effective programs.* Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.
