We currently have an opening for a part-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our Sleep Medicine Clinic. The position will work 56 hours per pay period (0.7 FTE) during determined scheduled days between Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:20 PM.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work both autonomously and in collaboration with Sleep Medicine physicians to address the needs of patients. Care will be delivered through both in-person consultations and telemedicine, focusing primarily on adult patients with sleep-disordered breathing, insomnia and other sleep disorders.
Our providers work closely with learners throughout the hospital, including medical students, residents, and Sleep Medicine fellows from its own Sleep Medicine Fellowship program and the University of Minnesota and other programs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting sleep-specific histories and physical exams* Ordering and interpreting sleep diagnostic tests* Diagnosing and managing sleep disorders* Developing and implementing individualized care plans* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care* Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members* Sleep consultative work in the hospital may be an option* Working with RN and administration to develop service lines to assist in triaging patients for sleep studies
Pay is based on years since licensure as an APP.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Nurse Practitioner: Must be a master's-prepared graduate from an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Minnesota and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.* Physician Assistant: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and registered as a Physician Assistant by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
* Experience in Sleep Medicine strongly preferred* Prior experience as an Advanced Practice Provider* Ability to care for Pediatric patients (FNP, if Nurse Practitioner)* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals* Strong patient assessment skills, including the use of diagnostic tools and instruments* Ability to develop and adjust individualized care plans as necessary is essential* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team are critical* Commitment to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care
