Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE: Two to three sentences describing the overallpurpose of the position.This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients,laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum, lactationeducation and assistance, providing family centered care including thewell newborn and the Level 2 Nursery. Assure expert, compassion,individualize nursing care for patients and families expected. Theycollaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieveoptimal patient outcomes.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maximum of ten functions in order ofpercentage of time spent on functions from longest to shortest; do not listanything that does not represent at least 10% of the jobs time. Pleaseinclude supervisory responsibilities.1.Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patientcare, safety and satisfaction.2. Demonstratesability to triage incoming patient requests for services.3. Delivers patienteducation to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, andpromote optimal wellness.4. Demonstratesability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statue.5. Demonstratescompetent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and criticalthinking skills.6. Demonstratesability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications,information and assistance.7. Administersmedications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed;consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.8. Coordinates patientcare with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed toachieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.9. Demonstrates abilityto work independently with minimal supervision.10. Delivers excellentservice by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patientpreferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients andfamilies.11. Role models theprincipals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.12. Perform otherduties as assigned.
