TGH is the area's only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult & pediatric burn centers in Florida. With five medical helicopters*, we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need. The hospital is home to one of the busiest solid organ transplant centers in the country. TGH is a nationally designated comprehensive stroke center, and has a 32-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Job Summary
The APRN or Physician Assistant provides in patient medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. The APRN/PA is responsible for inpatient follow up, procedures, and administrative duties. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.
Schedule: 3-4 days per week; 7am - 5pm, possibly 1 weekend a month, possibly 1 holiday a year. Always flexible.
Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida. Adult Gerontology Acute Care or Acute Care board certification required for APRNs. Interventional Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, Intensive Care, or general Pulmonology experience preferred.
