Job Summary
The APP will work in with the USF Cardiology Consult Team and CCU team providing care to patients on the inpatient consult service and rotating on the coronary critical care service. The APP will work closely with the attending physician and other members of the healthcare team to manage the care of patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
Responsibilities:
* Assess and evaluate patients on the inpatient consult service and coronary critical care service* Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), stress tests, heart catheterizations, and echocardiograms* Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate* Collaborate with the healthcare team* Educate patients and their families about their condition and treatment options* Participate in rounds and other team meetings to discuss patient care* Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care in the medical record
Required Skills
Qualifications:
* Acute Care Adult Gerontology NP, Acute Care NP, or a Physician Assistant* 1 year cardiology or internal medicine experience as a provider preferred* Cardiac ICU experience preferred* Excellent communication and leadership skills* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently* Commitment to ongoing professional development and process improvement
