Job Summary
Electrophysiology Center of Excellence: Electrophysiology Program Advance Practice Provider
The purpose of this provider led role is to develop the Heart and Vascular Institute Electrophysiology Center of Excellence clinical programs. This position will report under the Division of Advanced Practice and under the supervision and direction of the Electrophysiology Center and Program Director. We are looking for three highly motivated APP's with electrophysiology background or cardiology background to develop three programs in electrophysiology.

Advanced Complex Ablation
Lead Extraction
The APP provides clinical oversight and accountability for all aspects of the EP programs. The APP is responsible for inpatient and outpatient consults, rounding on pre and post procedure patients, and the outpatient pre-clinic, new clinic visits, and the follow up clinic. Perform independently in an outpatient clinic setting, under the general direction of the overseeing medical director. Function as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team. Assess, manage, and coordinate the care of adult electrophysiology patients under the supervision of the electrophysiology physicians. Identify and care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias, implanted pacemakers, implantable remote monitors, and cardiac defibrillators. Prescribe, educate on, and monitor anti-arrhythmic and anticoagulation medications. Provide care and education for the pre-operative and post-operative outpatients undergoing electrophysiology procedures including but not limited to: electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablation procedures, left atrial appendage occlusion procedures, laser lead extractions, pacemaker management, remote implantable monitors, and cardiac defibrillator implant management. Complete follow-up notes and discharge summaries in collaboration with attending physicians and electrophysiology fellows. Identify and refer patients to appropriate specialty service lines for the comprehensive care of the patient. Attend University of South Florida's weekly Electrophysiology conferences, quarterly Electrophysiology section meetings and program meetings. The APP's will also develop clinical pathways for electrophysiology patients.
Develop Program Clinic: billing as a provider, for post-discharge, new patients. (As program grows, this may change to include more patients and clinic days).
Non-Clinic Days: Rounding in hospital, seeing consults and program growth and development, participate in quality workgroups and present data with team, develop templates that contain necessary registry data, ensure registry endpoints are met, and management of patients and procedure planning
Required Skills
Experience: 1 year minimum of general cardiology experience with electrophysiology experience preferred
Experience in program development experience preferred
APRN must have Adult Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Certification
