Harborview Medical Center (HMC) has an outstanding opportunity for an ARNP, Nurse Practitioner or PA-C, Physician Assistant Certified to work at dual locations: The Regional Epilepsy Center and Neurological Surgery Clinic.
WORK SCHEDULE:
100% FTE
Days, M-F, 80 hrs every 2 weeks
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Neurological Surgery Clinic is located in the Ninth and Jefferson Building at Harborview Medical Center. It provides comprehensive assessment and management of neurological conditions, including acute vascular anomalies, brain tumors, aneurysms, movement disorders and diseases of the nervous system. The clinic is staffed by attending physicians who evaluate patients for advanced elective procedures and diagnostic studies.
The UW Medicine Regional Epilepsy Center, located at Harborview Medical Center, is a nationally recognized Level 4 epilepsy center accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. This designation confirms we provide the highest level of care available for seizure disorders.Our center is staffed by board-certified neurologists with advanced training in epilepsy care (epileptologists). The team includes specialists in neurosurgery, neuroradiology and neuropsychology, as well as nurses, social workers, vocational rehabilitation specialists, and electrodiagnostic technicians works with patients and referring physicians throughout the Northwest and across the country.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide clinical expertise to patients and their families
Serves as a resource person for health care providers
Participate in research and teaching programs
Work independently under the general guidance of the attending physicians, chief resident, and department nurse manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Nurse Practitioner:
Master's Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
AND National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
AND ACLS certification
OR
Physician Assistant:
Licensure as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA).
Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions
