Salary information

* RCP-1: Typical Starting Range is $33.91 and up (based on years of relevant experience).* RCP-2: Typical Starting Range is $36.79 and up (based on years of relevant experience).

Position Summary/Qualifications for the Respiratory Care Practitioner 2:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner 2 at Asante is an Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner that has acquired additional credentialing and competencies as outlined in the Respiratory Critical Care Orientation, Respiratory Care Services Competency Evaluation and Respiratory Care Services' Career Ladder, in one or more of the following: Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Care, Neonatal Care, Pulmonary Function Technology, Team leadership. The RCP-2 may enable the practitioner to perform respiratory care duties in the adult intensive care units, attend to patients in the ER and/or provide pediatric floor care if applicable. Responsibilities may also include management of blood gas labs, as assigned for specific job roles.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

* Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or respiratory related sciences, preferred.

Experience

* Completion of Respiratory Therapy education program and current licensure by the state of Oregon and experience specific to the posted Advanced Practitioner specialty position is required Successful applicants should have experience specific to the posted Advanced Practitioner specialty position. Such experience should indicate that the applicant would be able to demonstrate advanced competencies after completion of orientation(s).

Licensure/Certifications

* Current or former RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.* RT-P: Respiratory Therapist licensed by Oregon Health Authority Licensing Office required upon start. Temp license may be considered and permanent license must be obtained within 6 months of hire.* BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.* ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified from American Heart Association, preferred.* NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) usually preferred - but will be required for those working in the Family Birth Center.* PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor certification by the American Heart Association, preferred for ARRMC and ATRMC.* For Asante Ashland Community Hospital (AACH), PALS must be obtained within 6 months of start (for Respiratory Therapy).

Position Summary/Qualifications for the Respiratory Care Practitioner 1:

Respiratory Care Practitioners interview examine and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders using their knowledge of scientific principles underlying cardiopulmonary physiology and pathophysiology with their knowledge of biomedical engineering and technology to assess, educate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

* Completion of Respiratory Therapy education program and current licensure by the state of Oregon required.* Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or respiratory related sciences, preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

* Current or former CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.* RT-P: Respiratory Therapy - Permanent License by the Oregon Health Authority Licensing Office required upon start. Temp license by the Oregon Health Authority may be considered and permanent licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire.* BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.

Required Skills - Both Levels

* Critical thinking skills as well as effective communication skills.* Ability to assess the patient/situation, analyze the data, formulate a plan, and then implement the plan.* Ability to function effectively in a team environment utilizing consistent and appropriate communication as both a team member and leader.
