Certified School Nurse or R.N. to work with health aides to support the health needs of a 5 school elementary district.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of students' medical and physical needs.
2. Conducts vision and hearing screenings and completes related paperwork.
3. Collaborates with other team members in conducting diagnostic screenings.
4. Administers first aid and needed care for student illnesses.
5. Administers prescribed medications to students.
6. Documents staff and student injuries utilizing appropriate forms and procedures.
7. Is knowledgeable about the various medications taken by students and their potential side
effects.
8. Works collaboratively in cases of child abuse referrals.
9. Assesses and maintains all students immunization records, physical records emergency
information, and other pertinent health related data.
10. Effectively communicates with colleagues, supervisor, and parents regarding pertinent
health issues and medical conditions of students.
11. Prepares and issues notifications to school officials and parents of possible exposure to
contagious diseases or conditions.
12. Acts as a resource to team members regarding health issues.
13. Supervise the work of the health aides
14. Evidence of CPR and First Aid Certification
