Summary
The Gynecology Center at Mercy composes a team of highly-trained specialists with access to the latest technology, treatments, and state-of-the-art facilities. We are seeking a Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join our Gynecology team to advance the care of our gynecologic patients and work to support our minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon.
This position is a full-time position providing office care at our Broken Land Parkway location in Columbia. The PA will also have the opportunities to work with our minimally invasive Gynecologic Surgeon in the operating room on selective dates. The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary health care team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care for our patients (family focused). The NP / PA educates clients and/or any available family members in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health, and intervene in illnesses.
Responsibilities
* Self-motivated individual who is adaptable, a quick learner, and is confident working independently* Coordinating care in an outpatient clinical based setting; seeing a wide variety of patients from routine gynecologic annual care to more complex gynecologic needs.* No obstetrical care beyond pregnancy diagnosis and early management is including in this position.* Comfortable with basic surgical techniques and patient care; surgical experience preferred. Interested in learning advanced concepts in acute perioperative and postoperative management.* Full-time position with schedule flexibility to allow for completion of surgical cases which may run late.* Minimal call requirements* Competitive salary with opportunity for productivity bonus. CME support available.
Requirements
* Must have completed / graduated from an accredited Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program - Experience Required.* Must be certified as a first assist or willing to train (PA or CRNP)* Must be comfortable performing gynecologic exams independently for at least 6-12 months. Primary experience in women's health preferred, but not required.* License Requirements: Maryland PA License, Maryland NP Certification, DEA, CDS* Certification Requirements: NCCPA, ANCC/AAN
