JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24**Fulltime and part-time positions are available!**
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time and to provide care for these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/equipment, and other health care team members. The peri anesthesia nurse is accountable for planning and directing the pre-op and post-op care of every patient undergoing operative and invasive procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Current Louisiana RN LicenseGraduate of a NLN accredited school of nursingCurrent BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.Ability to work flexible shiftsAbility to float to Pre-Op/Post-Op Department as needed/assigned
Preferred Qualifications:Two (2) years current medical-surgical, critical care or same day surgery experience preferredPediatric experience preferredOne (1) year PACU experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.Physical Effort required:Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeingFrequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, stooping, crouchingOccasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, crawling
