Job Duties

Patient Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.

Diagnosis and Treatment: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, including prescribing medications and therapies within your scope of practice.

Patient Education: Provide education and counseling to patients about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.

Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare providers, and staff to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.

Documentation: Accurately document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic health records (EHR).

Administrative Duties: Assist with routine administrative tasks such as managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.

Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of practice protocols and procedures.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as practice policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.

Licensure/Certification: Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Commonwealth of Virginia.

Certification by a recognized national board (e.g., ANCC, AANP) required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting, preferably in primary care or a related specialty.
