ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary
1. Utilizes advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills to devise and implement patient management activities.
2. Fosters educational development of patients and families .
3. Provides health care consulting.
4. Demonstrates support of research.
5. Provides leadership in areas of clinical expertise.
6. Maintains and advances knowledge and skills in areas of specialization.
7. Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement activities.
Minimum Requirements
Board of Nursing approved Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant program.
NC RN licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or as a Physician Assistant; National Board Certification as an NP/PA required.
More than 2 years experience in a health care setting.
May substitute NP/PA with no previous experience as NP/PA if they have clinical experience in an acute care setting with direct patient care for a minimal of 2 years.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
