Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The NP functions in an interdependet role by implementing the appropriate SPs in oncology urgent care as well as infusion center. By using the SPs the NP is able to evaluate patients with a variety of oncological diagnoses and emergencies. NP will change treatment regiment after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavious and physcal condition and determines if they are abnormal findings. The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in the interdiscplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals.
Salary range: NP2 : $84.82- $121.13/hour, NP 1: $76.51/hourly
This is a limited appointment for 6 months.

Job Qualifications

* CA RN and CA NP License- required * MSN/ DNP in NP Specialty -required (Adult Acute Care NP Specialty - strongly preferred but will consider Adult NP, FNP or PCNP with extensive relevant Oncology exp) * National Certification in NP Specialty-required * BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association- required * NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, Additional: NPI #, DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required * 5+ years of exp as an oncology certified nurse (experience in infusion center is a plus)-preferred * NP experience- preferred * Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs -required * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel -required * Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction -required * Ability to set priorities -required * Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence -required * Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner -required * NP1 : less than 6 months exp $76.51/hourly. May consider NPs with less than 6 months exp only if they have a minimum of 5 years relevant Oncology experience. An experienced NP is strongly preferred.
