Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position can be located at one of four WCMH Clinical Locations - Conway, Myrtle Beach, Georgetown or Kingstree Clinics.

Responsibilities and duties for APRN-NP Non-Institutional included, but not limited to:
Must be a licensed registered nurse and recognized as a Nurse Practitioner by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina certified by a nationally recognized nursing organization which certifies nursing practicing in an extended role. Must be currently certified in psychiatric mental health nursing approved by the Board of Nursing for advance psychiatric nursing. This is a requirement of this position and applicants without these qualifications can't be considered for employment in this role.
Under limited supervision by the Chief of Psychiatric Services, must be able to work independently, exercising judgement and seeking guidance as needed. Position will be providing medical and psychiatric evaluation to adult patients.
Provides advanced psychiatric nursing care to include provision of preventive healthcare and/or evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions under approved written protocols and written practice agreement with collaborating physicians. The position requires full coverage for adult and geriatric patients and will be available to child and adolescent patients on an emergency or back up basis as needed.
Position will require lifting, standing, sitting, bending and being able to move easily about the clinic at Waccamaw Center for Mental health where work environment is non institutional clinical setting.
Maintains documentation of charts and other records in accordance with Federal, State, Local, SCDMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, CARF and HIPAA standards.
Provides comprehensive psychiatric, psychopharmacological and risk assessment/management for adult patients in accordance with educations credentials and all clinical presentations across the continuum.
Collaborates with physician supervisor to establish protocols for scope of practice.
Supervise practices pertinent to psychiatric diagnosis, pharmacological management and any other treatment. Knowledge of pharmacology necessary for prescribing and monitoring medications.
Individualized goal directed intervention that are safe and effective are the responsibility of this role to provide.
Clinical presentations utilizing nursing practice standards in collaboration with members of the health care team to achieve identified outcomes is essential duty.
Orders lab work and reviews incoming lab work. Ability to interpret laboratory findings and results of other common diagnostic tests. Must be able to incorporate appropriate explanations and education into the care of the assigned clients and families.
Meets productivity requirements as outlined by Center Administration.
Provides clinical consultation and supervision to WCMH staff in interdisciplinary staffing's, crisis/emergency situations and cases follow ups.
Ability to function as an effective team member.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Travel may be required between WCMH clinics. If so, state vehicle is provided.
Other related duties may be assigned by the Medical Director and/or Executive Director of WCMH.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
MINIMUM and ADDITIONAL Requirements:
State Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the master's or doctoral level acceptable to Board to include clinical experience. Related nursing experience with at least 5 years' experience as a Psychiatric NP. Certification in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support is required.
Agency Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the master's or doctoral level acceptable to Board to include clinical experience. Related nursing experience with at least 5 years' experience as a Psychiatric NP. Certification in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
