American Family Care (AFC) Urgent Care in Dothan, AL, is seeking experienced Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join our dynamic team. Summary:

As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in collaboration with a designated physician. Your role is crucial in delivering high-quality care and ensuring positive patient outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician.* Work alongside a physician to manage the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.* Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.* Educate patients and families on preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and the use of prescribed treatments and medications.* Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records.* Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, and referrals.* Serve as a Medical Examiner and perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations.* Order diagnostic tests as needed and prescribe medications within the scope of your license.* Facilitate the evaluation of records by physicians and peers to ensure quality and adherence to standards, implementing constructive feedback as needed.* Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.* Integrate new knowledge from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training into clinical practice.* Regular attendance is essential to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist in patient flow through triage and other nursing duties as needed.* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.* Flexibility and willingness to work weekends and holidays as required.* A self-motivated individual dedicated to providing quality patient care and ensuring customer satisfaction.* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.* Willingness to work with multiple covering physicians in addition to the collaborating physician.* A positive attitude with a "Patients First" approach.

Education and Experience:

* Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or a Physician Assistant (PANCE).* Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary or urgent care, or internal medicine practice.
