Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - After Hours Clinic

SALARY INFORMATION :
$56.00 - $60.66 Dependent on Experience
BASIC FUNCTION:
Assesses, plans, and provides emergent, urgent and acute primary care in the After Hours Clinic for Grand River Hospital District. Our After Hours Care is a high-quality alternative to the Emergency Department for treating non-threatening illnesses and injuries.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data including health history and results of examinations under the supervision of a physician. Works in collaboration with Physicians to assess the physical needs of patients admitted to the After Hours Clinic. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to Physicians and other departments. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. In addition to clinical duties, participates in quality assurance planning, initiatives, and improvement projects. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Physician Assistant: Requires graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Active Colorado Physician Assistant licensure required. National Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA preferred. Master's Degree in area of specialty preferred. ACLS and PALS certifications are required upon hire, ACLS preferred and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment. 3 to 5 years working experience in an Emergency Department and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
Nurse Practitioner: Requires active Colorado Licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty based on RN licensure and Colorado authority for advanced practice. ACLS and PALS certifications are required upon hire, ACLS preferred and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment. 3 to 5 years working experience in an Emergency Department and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
