Hospitalist Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner

SALARY INFORMATION:
$75.00/hr. Dependent on Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
Physician Assistant: Requires graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Active Colorado Physician Assistant licensure required. National Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA preferred. Master's Degree in area of specialty preferred. Active ACLS certifications are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment. ATLS certification is preferred but not required. 3 to 5 years working experience as a Hospitalist and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
Nurse Practitioner: Requires active Colorado licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty based on RN licensure and Colorado authority for advanced practice. Active ACLS certifications are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment. ATLS certification is preferred but not required. 3 to 5 years working experience as a Hospitalist and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Hospitalist PA or NP will work in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients with stable and chronic illnesses. They will report directly the the Hospitalist Medical Director Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds. Plans and coordinates rehabilitation, home health care, and follow-up services for patients with acute health issues. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Set up procedures, preform device interrogations and manage complex arrhythmia and medication regimens. Admit patients through emergency room. Cover ICU, Med Surg, cardiology, and step down unit. Post-surgical ICU which includes the continual critical and noncritical care in the post-surgical ICU. Read and interpret EKG, lab tests, and radiologic studies under supervision of attending physician. Execute emergency department consultations, hospital discharges from medicine units, post-op management, and rehab facility rounds. Look after stabilization of patients in need of advance cardiovascular or trauma life support before redirecting them for specialize medical treatment. Plan and execute medical programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
