Giant Pictures/Drafthouse Films is seeking a Video Tech Operator. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage digital video assets efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone who is team-oriented, technically skilled, and has a "roll up your sleeves" approach to troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
? Access video incoming/outgoing files using Aspera, Signiant, Amazon Web Services.
? Receive, ingest, and verify incoming video and timed text files files (captions, subtitles) for quality and format specifications.
? Handle the ingestion of content in a highly secure manner.
? Perform in depth quality checks on video, audio, and timed text files to ensure they meet company and platform-specific standards.
? Identify and troubleshoot issues related to audio, video, and timed text file quality.
? Coordinate with internal teams to rectify any technical issues and address technical y technical issues and address technical or deadline roadblocks promptly
Transcode and encode videos into appropriate formats for distribution on various platforms.
? Perform asset editing and manipulation of video, audio, caption/subtitle files, still images, and metadata.
? Willingness to learn and undertake additional departmental duties as required.
? 2+ years of post-production or media distribution experience.
? 1+ years working within the digital distribution supply chain.
? Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, Media Encoder, and Photoshop.
? Experience with various closed caption formats and software.
? Knowledge of video codecs, container formats, frame rates, and digital file specifications.
? Knowledge of all open digital delivery platforms such as Aspera, Signiant, Amazon Web Services.
? Familiarity with digital packaging, quality control processes, and metadata.
? Strong organizational and time-management skills.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
? Strong multi-tasker with experience managing multiple priorities while retaining knowledge of multiple workflows.
? Ability to follow directions, work unsupervised, and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
? Familiarity with Annotation Edit and other timed text software is a plus.
Compensation: $22-$26 per hour, depending on experience.
