We are a fast-paced Elder Law Firm looking for a self-motivated and organized legal assistant to join our close-knit team. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running of the office and effective case management. You should have a well-rounded skill set that includes customer service, analysis, and problem solving. Strong multitasking and organizational skills are essential. You will provide a broad spectrum of services including intake, scheduling, and client liaison. It is also imperative that you are able to work independently, have a strong attention to detail, master expected responsibilities, as well as be able to focus and be productive in a busy work environment. The legal assistant is our clients’ first point of contact; therefore, it is essential that the candidate possess a professional, amiable, and friendly demeanor. Our office is open Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8am to 6pm. We are closed on Fridays, offering a 4-day work week to our employees!
The position would entail travel between both our Coral Springs and Pembroke Pines office.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
- Provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
- Communicate with clients and third parties in person, over the phone, and electronically.
- Draft and send correspondence with other applicable documents.
- File and maintain physical and electronical records in an organized manner.
- E-file court documents and other applicable documents.
- Answer and direct phone calls.
- Perform detailed client intakes.
- Maintain and ensure that client lists are accurate.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure multiple calendars are up to date.
- Compile, review, and edit firm billing in response to Attorney requests.
Skills
- Previous experience as legal assistant or legal secretary preferred.
- Familiarity with probate, guardianship and estate planning law, legal procedures and protocols, and court systems preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems; specifically, Outlook and Word.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Superb organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple activities, and work under pressure.
